The Zbrašov Aragonite Caves lie in the picturesque valley of the Bečva River in the spa village of Teplice nad Bečvou. Their year-round constant temperature of 14.5°C makes them the warmest caves in the whole Czech Republic. This unique cave system of European importance was formed by the action of atmospheric water and warm mineral water emerging from great depths in the limestone. Unique decorations of the caves are formed by the mineral aragonite.
The trail goes through the Bečva valley and is well suited for beginner bikers. There are two springs of the Bečva river. The one called Rožnovská Bečva is in Horné Bečva, and the second one, that is called Vsetínská Bečva, is in Velké Karlovice. These two springs collide in Valašské Meziříčí, where the trail continues along the Bečva river until the river flows into the Morava river near the town of Tovačov.
Most of the trail is on newly constructed roads with no traffic allowed. The rest of the biking trail is made of less frequented communications and well-maintained asphalt trails in our forests and fields.
What can you see?
There are lots to see! For example, you will be able to appreciate the beautiful nature of Beskydy mountains, traditional wooden houses that are spread around the region or those that are concentrated in Rožnov open-air museum. You can also visit the historical centers of Vsetín, Valašské Meziříčí, Hranice, Lipník nad Bečvou, or Přerov.
Along the trail or in the trail’s close surroundings, there are museums, castles, and palaces that are worth visiting at least once!
Not far from Hranice, in the middle of beautiful countryside, there is Spa Teplice nad Bečvou. Its history goes back to 1553 and it is one of the oldest spa in Moravia. Right under the spa’s premises, there are caves where the spa’s famous healing water extrudes from the ground. The water is filled with many minerals and carbon dioxide. Nowadays it is called Teplická kyselka.
Already in the third decade of the 20th century Teplicka kyselka was scientifically proven to be very helpful in the process of healing cardio-vascular diseases.
In the area of the spa, there are architectonical drinking spots that visitors can visit and taste Teplicka kyselka. Another place worth visiting is the spa park with many kinds of trees, bushes, and artistic pieces.
One of the main means of the healing process here in our spa is taking baths in a unique water source filled with water with high level of carbon dioxide and its temperature is always 22,5 °C. This process is complemented by a wide range of treatments in the field of massages, wraps, electrotherapy, and rehabilitation.
The general public can enjoy a range of individual, freely available spa treatments. You can also choose from unique treatments such as molecular hydrogen therapy, lava stone massage or Madagascar massage.
